About this consultation
BHP Nickel West has submitted an expression of interest (EOI) for the construction of a temporary workforce accommodation development on City-owned land.
The proposal is for the lease of 1 Trasimeno Way, Sommerville, and a 107,611m2 portion of Lot 9000 Bates Drive, to construct a temporary 1000-bed workforce accommodation development for a period of three years, plus three one-year options.
At June's Council Meeting, Councillors endorsed a public consultation to begin regarding this proposal, in order to understand the community's position and thoughts before making a decision on the lease.

Proposed Disposition of Property Section 3.58 (3) of the Local Government Act 1995
The City of Kalgoorlie Boulder is considering entering into a lease, the details of which are as follows:
Subject Land
1 Trasimeno Way and a portion of Lot 67 Fabric Street Somerville, WA 6440, being 107611.5m2 of Lot 67 on Deposit Plan 161200 of the land contained of Certificate of Title Volume 1871 and Folio 30.
Lease Holder
BHP Nickel West Pty Ltd or its nominee or assignee.
Term
Three (3) years with options to extend for one (1) year + one (1) year + one (1) year, at market lease rates.
Consideration
$310,000 (ex GST) or Market Lease Rates (whichever is higher) plus outgoings and Council Rates.
Market Value of Subject Land
An independent valuation will be obtained by the City prior to Council consideration.
