In January 2021, the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder was issued an approved variation by the Minister of Commerce.

The result of this was the ability for general retail shops to trade on Sundays and public holidays between the hours of 8am and 3pm.

These new trading hours have been widely accepted by the community and a major success in supporting local businesses.

The City is now seeking feedback from the community and businesses to assess whether these current trading hours should be maintained, expanded or reduced.

Trading hours are set under the Retail Trading Hours Act 1987.

The current approved hours are broken down below, however, retailers can decide their own hours within these approved time spans.
