Strategic Community Plan Workshops

What is a Strategic Community Plan?

As part of the Local Government Act 1995, all local governments are required to develop a plan for the future.

This year, we are reviewing and updating our Strategic Community Plan (2025-2035), which outlines our community's goals and priorities for the next 10 years. This plan will guide our decisions, helping us allocate resources and create yearly operational plans that support the community's vision and priorities.

As part of the consultation process, community stakeholders will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the draft plan prior to its final endorsement by Council later this year.

What is a Community Priorities Survey?

The City conducts a Community Priorities Survey and Business Priorities Survey (MARKYT® Community Scorecard) every two years. This is an opportunity for residents to provide feedback on:

  • Local infrastructure and facilities
  • Community consultation and engagement efforts
  • Communication and customer service
  • Performance City services
  • Overall performance of the City
  • Priority areas now and in the future

Residents may also provide their ideas and vision for the city's future. This input directly helps the City understand community priorities, informs Council decision-making, and where budget is spent.

This year is particularly important because the City is also reviewing our Strategic Community Plan (2025-2035), which will outline priorities for the next 10 years. Please refer to the timeline for key dates all community consultation activities taking place for this project.

Residents over 14 years old and businesses in our community are invited to complete the Community or Business Priorities Surveys (MARKYT Scorecards) from 10 - 28 March 2025.
