After a 12-month trial run of public e-scooters across Kalgoorlie-Boulder, the City is actively seeking public feedback about their experience through an online survey.

The findings from this public consultation will be presented to Council, who will then consider the future of hired e-scooters in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

Initiating the trial in March 2023, the City worked closely with e-scooter operators, Beam Mobility and Bird Ride to introduce e-scooter hire across the city in an effort to improve connectivity and accessibility.

Mayor Glenn Wilson said the trial had given the City an opportunity to test this alternative transport option for the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community.

“The trial of hireable e-scooters has showcased what can be considered an inexpensive transport alternative for residents, which is also sustainable and readily available across the city.”

“We understand residents will have varied experiences from the 12-month trial, and we invite everyone to share these with us to ensure input from across our community is presented to Council.”

“The feedback received in this survey is vital in determining whether we continue the hire of e-scooters, and the feedback received will be taken into serious consideration by myself and my fellow Councillors.”
